    Hi,

Ive got a Dell Inspiron laptop with XP professional. I recently set up an account for my mother to learn basic computer skills but when i deleted the account, it asked me did i want to remove all files and folders associated with the account and i clicked yes.

I then logged back into my admin account and it had been totally wiped. It was like logging onto an account for the first time and it even asked me did i want to take a tour of Windows. I have lost documents from college, about 5 gigs of music and heaps of other stuff. I have'nt a clue what to do. Does anyone know if there is a way to restore this information or is it lost forever. Please help me, lol

Firstly maybe try a system restore ? After that .... I was recomended a program by another boardsie before when I lost a load of files it was called getdataback. I dont know if it will work in this scenario though.

While logged in as administrator, check under users in control panel to see if there is another name in there. It could be that you had a different log in that had admin rights as opposed to the actual administrator account.
