    I still can't believe this....

Playing the 2.50/5 omaha game just now on Betfair's all singing, all dancing new software.

Short version: I make it $22.50 preflop with KKxx and get two callers. Q37 rainbow flop and I bet $70. A player (I know personally) makes it $280 and I call (I have my reasons ;) ) all in for my last $200 ish. Pot works out at $617 total. Turn J river J so I make 2 pair, Kings over Jacks and Player X turns over AQxx for Queens over Jacks.. Ok, I take it down... Oh no, wait... Betfair is shipping the pot to him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I rang the player in question and he couldn't believe it and I rang Betfair support and they said "ya, we're having a lot of problems tonight. We'll ring you back."

    I'm in shock.

wow if this is serious the only right thing for them to do is to take the whole site down right now, anything else is really irresponsible.

New site is a piece of ****.
Flipper, I sent you a PM.

I'm actually going to blow a fuse if they don't sort this out pronto. Everyone is giving out about the software. We were 10 handed playing the $5/$10 game a while ago and the whole thing shut down. I was able to sit back in for the minimum regardless of the fact I was winning $1,000!

    Edit: just replied Ken

This is crazy, especially considering how they went on about how great this was gonna be.

wait, so the site software is making major errors, so you decided to carry on and play some 5/10?

Whoever was in charge of testing for betfair needs to get boot asap, that is disgraceful.

Congrats Betfair, you are now eternally the laughing stock of online poker. Un****ingbelievable.

I presume their contract with Crypto was set to expire on Nov 1st... and there was nothing they could do to stop that. They must have made a decision to rush the release. No way was it tested properly....

If the wrong hands are winning I dread to think about what other software hiccups are awaiting us!

They bought the site well over a year ago, no excuses for these kind of **** ups.

    lol - i know!

I can picture them all sitting around a big round table 12 months ago discussing the move, informing crypto they'll be moving to a new platform in November 06', the techie guys promising to finish the last of the testing by July 06 giving them ample time to iron out any bugs.... seen it all before. A project I worked on (I was 1 of over 100 people on project so not entirely my fault!) took 4 years to fully complete. The initial time frame was 6 months.... lol

Some student on work exp leaves a ";" out of a line of code and 100+ dev's take 3 years looking for it.

    wp :p

lol! oh that takes me back. I once got a call from BOI after I'd done some brief owrk experience with them writing RPG. When you're writing new software you tend to put in your own self explanatary *error messages* then change them later so that its a more meaningful message for the end user.

So they call me up months after my work experience and the product already in full swing to ask me about a *054 piece of **** always ****ing generates this ****ing stupid error* message.

Good thing I never actually wanted to get another job in programming. :D

Yeh I defended betfair a little yesterday. Have to say I seen the true light of it now, and cashed out.

have they one of these 'number of players online now' counters? If so what type of numbers are they getting? Considering there are quite a few here who have taken their money out, I'm sure they are not loved elsewhere for it.

I thought I was going mad, I was playing 0.05/0.10 for a few hours last night and I was sure I had lost twice with the best hand. I thought I was going crazy-I just said to myself that the program couldn't be wrong and I just forgot about it! And now I see this this morning!!!

Can someone post their phone number/e-mail here (internet restrictions at work!)

I have only ever played Betfair and I dont like poker stars. Anyone suggest really good sites :)

    Thanks.

I've just rang them for the third time and got the same "we're looking into it" reply as before. I've heard since that it's happened to two other people in the Omaha game there too.

I never thought we would have to tell an online site that you must use 2 from your hand in Omaha.

is it just me, or are any other players who consistently lose online thinking that the new betfair could be the solution to a history of online bad play?

worst hand wins ... sweet ... i'm all in!

... just need betfair to re-design the systems in the Fitzwilliam and its going to be a good year...

When I log into my betfair account it doesnt allow me to reach the cashier page, ie i cant click on "my account" in the poker client.

Is anyone else having this problem?
I have contacted customer support and am waiting for a reply.

Whats the problem. Obviously the software is now opinionated which is great. If you make a bad call you lose no matter what. Sounds good to me :)
Hey do i get a pm from KP now that I have posted here?

despite the software being a bit dodge, the money added tournaments this weekend are great.

last night 199 runners in the $100 game with $10,000 added!

    Was this ever sorted?

They are having a live Q&A on their forum now. I haven't seen any other "the winning hand got beaten" threads there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,048 ✭✭✭Flipper

I had a phone call from Mr. Ben Freid (head of Poker) last Thursday night. He assured me that they would solve the problem ASAP and keep me updated. My phone was off most of the weekend so if he tried to contact me, he wouldn't have been able to.

It was nice to hear that someone of his position within the company was concerned with an individual complaint and I will keep u guys updated.
