Sorry if this sounds really stupid but if I could get help it would be much appreciated. Getting an Xbox 360 at xmas and heard i will have to download upgrades to get new enough games to work. I dont have internet at home presently and was wondering if I brought it to a mates house is it just a matter of connecting to the net and downloading the upgrades for free or is there a cost?

    Thanks in advance :D

The updates aren't required, any game you buy for the 360 will work perfectly if its never updated. But the updates do add functionality and fix any bugs.

You can setup a free account for Live in your friends house and get any updates there.

The update will be on the DVD the game comes on. If your XBOX is not up to date, when you put in the DVD, it will ask you if you want to upgrade your firmware and will automatically update. I have done this as I just had no BB for about six months

you can always download the latest xbox 360 updates from microsoft, burn them to a cd and insert into the xbox360. It will walk you through the rest of it..

    :(

Connect it through scart or component, switch it to 60hz, plug VGA back in, then it works.

Did that but I'm still getting the same error. (50Hz setting) :(
Hope it works for some of you.

It does play 100% on SCART just not on my VGA when last set to 50 or 60 Hz.

    Thanks anyway.
