    Hi there,

I have all my Albums backed up onto my laptop for listening.

I have them in folder formar with each folder namesed after the artist and album.

Is there any way to get a program to read all these titles and put it into an excel spreadsheet?

let me know if thats makes sence!

    Thanks

Well, you could open all the files in Winamp, sort by path and filename then generate a HTML playlist. You could probably import that into Excel.

Use DOS to navigate to your directory/Folder where your MP3's are stored
    Type dir > mymp3s.txt
This will put a text file in the MP3 folder called mymp3s listing all the folders

I did it a while back using a different method will post that up later for ya..

Not with you to be honest. Why do you need an index. How will you use this index?

Why do you have a problem with someone having a catalog of all their music , plenty of people do it with their movies !
