    Hi,

I'm just wondering if anyone here has ever gone from playing full time live to just playing online. If so, can you share your experience, would you recommend it, dos and donts.

    Many Thanks

I would recommend a mix of both - still play live games - you can now be more selective with your choice.

I play 2/3 times a week live - it's good for the soul to get out 'n about :)

What type of games do you play?
Maybe you can't get your required games live??

    good luck

    Hi,
Mainly play private cash games and 5/5, 10/10 live games..1k buy ins...
Been doing it for the last 9 months now...just getting very tired from it..
What sites would you recommend for 10/20...25/50 NL games during the day ?
    Cheers

I was never a full-time live player but as a regular online player one of the main things I would suggest 4 u is to inform urself on poker software that can assist u greatly with ur game, there is plenty stuff out there, the 2 most important ones imo r pokertracker and pahud - these used together keep track of ur game and ur opponent's game and give u a distinct legit advantage to those who don't.

Other stuff 2 b aware of that is that da pace of da online game is far quicker, it is far easier 2 go on tilt playing online than offline, u have less time to recover ur composure from bad beats. A lot of offline players get convinced that the software is rigged - this is a myth so don't buy into it - u just c more bad beats because u c more hands.

Comparing da standard of both games - I play mostly medium to medium hi-stakes online i.e $2-$4 to $5-10 nl and plo and I would say the majority of players r well able 2 play, I might be wrong here but I really think the era when experienced B&M players but new to online can expect to readily sit down and beat these kinda games easily is at an end, not saying at all that u won't but don't b overconfident about it.

I expect u will get a lot more advice on this topic but that's my twopence worth.
    Good luck anyway with it.

    Thanks Lucky Lucky, appreciate that..

The two pieces of software you mentioned, do you have to use them on a particular poker site or can you use them no matter what software you're playing with ?

They don't work with every single poker site but they do work with just about all the big poker sites and networks. If I were u I would b reluctant 2 join any site that u can't use em with, also pokertracker can take a good while 2 get used 2 though da basics of it won't take u 2 long. Anyway chances r most if not at all da sites u have heard of will support it, i.e Paddy power, ladbrokes, partypoker, poker stars, ultimatebet, Greenjokerpoker all work fine with it. another thing to b aware of is to look out for opportuntities 2 get rakeback. Just in case u don't know a lot of poker sites r part of a network that share thier player base - paddypower and greenjokerpoker r part of a large community using tribeca software, so any site that uses tribeca software works in pokertracker, similarly there r other networks out there william hill is part of cryptologic, ladbrokes uses same software as da prima network though it is not actually part of that network.

so b4 u dash in to signing up 2 anywhere get as informed as u can - i wouldn't rush in to playing ur usual hi-stakes games online either. Get a feel for what's going on 1st - unless of course u have money to burn - guess u probably do if u r looking to play $25-$50 nlo ;)
