Is a Sky subscription card tied to the box, ie won't work in another box if I want to swap between two different boxes?

I don't *think* so, its switched on/channels changed/upgrades via a signal set to the satellite dish, so I would imagine that its not tied to the box.

the card is registered to a box. If it is put into another box all channels will be available apart from premium (sky sports and movies) and any extra sub channels (Setanta, MUTV etc.) .If you are permanently pairing your card to a new box just call Sky customer services (0818 719819) with the card number and serial number of the new box.
