Is there a bonfire in your area? If so list it and take a picture.

    Mike.

Nice idea Mike! I'm sure I could take a walk, later, being in the Cavan area I could probably find quite a few! How about an edit to make it bonfires and fireworks?

Was thinking of starting a thread just like this... good call.

I've seen big black plumes of smoke coming from somewhere near by... added to the fact that the whole road stinks of burning rubber, it's pretty safe to say there's a sizable fire somewhere close.
Fireworks bang and clap away in the distance, the dogs are going a tad nuts.
So far it's nowhere near as bad as previous years, but then it's still pretty early... should pick up by 7 or 8.

Eew! I've been to a few of those "Get Rid of the old Tyres while we're at it" kind of Bon Fires!

You go home with a layer of black film on your skin! Yuck-O!

But they do burn in a very cool way!

Yep... I saw the one they were prepping in Bunratty on my way home from work... They had a huge pile of junk about 5 metres high and 20 metres long.

I'm certainly not going back there to take a photo of the monster though.

Where are the fireworks police to plaster those 10 grand fines?:)
Are the gardai counting the amount of fireworks exploding so to add them to the list of crime offences on this nite? :)

just seen one in the mun so far, and it could hardly be called a bonfire..pi$$ poor

the kids round here these days are dull, f***witted delinquents who havent the brains to organise collecting wood. We've bred a generation of trash

No bonfires, but a serious amount of fireworks. They've been going solidly since around 6 pm.

I just reduced two little kids to tears on my doorstep.

I thought it would be a good idea to dress up for giving out the sweets... I should probably stop swinging open the door and screaming though...

some monster fireworks going off in the coolock edenmore area. some "industrial" fireworks too. i just let off a monster rocket and as it took off garda van came into cul de sac and said it was class looking. thn they left and set off another.

the 10k fine is about people smuggling firework accross the border, not for people setting off a few bottle rockets and such.

The fines do seemed to have worked over all... Up on to this year pretty much every night in October was like it is tonight.

like spitfire said, im in edenmore at the moment and its like bagdad outside, my granny is shi*ing herself and some of the costumes are shocking, two girls who arent a day over 12 knocked on the door dressed in a bra, knickers and suspenders, their parents should not let them out like that.

You could hear a mouse f4rt here in cork. Worst halloween ever.
Between the law and the residents associations (it's a toss up as to which is worse) you couldnt light a match without being pounced on.
    It's early yet though.

Plenty of fireworks here, but the local bonfire never happened.

But whats really weird is the damn road sweeper truck thats now on it 3rd pass of my house....................at 9pm, WTF???

    Sorry Ruu ;)

There was a large bonfire up at the halting site earlier, the gardai were scoping it out though so I imagine it's been taken care of at this point. Didn't have the camera with me unfortunately!

Although here in my area [ city centre Dublin ] the local idiot from the council said there would be no bonfire, we went ahead and lit one up anyway.

Strangely enough though, after she was telling us we'd all be arrested etc. we had the thing stacked up but not lit, along come some gardaí when she's gone, told us that once it's lit there's sweet f*ckall they can do, so up it went as a nice fireball, explosions like we're at war atm and while the guards kept a watchful eye on things whout any hassle whatsoever.

Fair play to the cops tonight, we thought they'd shut it down but we only made it for the kids to have something to look at...No pics though :(

Adding to that, about 2 weeks ago we had over 50 teens all armed with iron bars, baseball bats etc trying to start war with the kids where i live because
they were blamed on stealing wood for a bonfire. First time that's happened in years :P

    It's unbelievebly quite.
Normally theres at least one bona close by but this year nothing.
I'm used to seeing at least one scrap.Last year there was around ten girls
tearing each other to pieces outside my gate over someone who was goin out with a few of them at the same time. dirty sod:D
