Im a TSM Sociology student , and just now Im wondering what economics has just appeared on my timetable for.

As far as I know a TSM student only does Introduction to Sociology and Introduction to POlitical Science in first year, so whats all this business ?

If I find out ive been missing lectures because I got the wrong timetable, Im going to be vexed to the extreme.

Anybody doing tsm sociology can help please?

If it's your online timetable then don't worry; that thing is almost consistently wrong for most of us.

There are three courses in JF TSM Sociology. All of these are compulsory.

The economics course is Introduction to Economic Policy, taught by the wonderful Prof. PJ Drudy and Prof. AE Murphy.

This link will stand you in good stead!

This gets my vote for Best Thread Title EVER.

TheMoon, I'd say drop up to PJ Drudy and let him know that you've missed the first few lectures. He's a good guy as well as being an excellent lecturer so he can fill you in on what you've missed and probably give you a few hand-outs.

Oh and because it's Economic Policy so there's very little maths involved and some of the topics covered will provide a good grounding for stuff you might do in Sociology in later years. I did it a couple of years ago, and it covered things like inadequate provisions of social housing by successive governments, an introduction to poverty, money and basic supply and demand stuff.

well I just saw those replies, after firing off another confused bash at attaining clarification. I've AE Murphy, I'll have an apologetic word with him tomorrow.

thanks, lads. Great sweet brown stirabout, this whole debacle has angered me up a treat.

I'm in Prof Murphy's JF Economic Policy lecture this year, and I can guarantee you will have no trouble catching up. All we've essentially done so far is the difference between ideologies and supply and demand curves.

Seriously, I enjoy the lecture and all, but we've been listening to explanations of VERY simple curves for a week now, over and over. I've never done economics in my life and I'd say it took me a good 4 seconds to understand, it's SOOOO easy. You will have no problems.
