    Hi All,
Has anyone here had any experience dealing with Alasta Motors on South Lotts Road, Ringsend? I have got parts from them before and they seem good but I need to bring the car in for servicing and I want to know if they are trustworthy. Can anyone vouch for them?
    Cheers!

I bought a 00 GTV off them a few years ago, they stood by the warranty no matter what went wrong, they fixed every rattle and replaced parts with no questions. When I went back to them AFTER the warranty was up they fixed stuff with no charge because they had worked on the part during the warrenty. Great service, friendly gang, family run business. They are certainly trustworthy... they really could have ripped me off on a few occasions, but they didn't.

In my experience they do very good work, but they are expensive and the owner can be a bit on the surly side. If you drive an Alfa then you could also consider Gerry Campbell in TI Autos.

I deal with them a few times every year and I have to say I find them quite good too - for both Alfa and Chrysler. They seem to fix things first time - which is always a good sign.

Yeah, they are expensive enough allright, but its comforting to know its done right! You are right about the owner being surly, I think I aged him 10 years with my anal complaints about rattles and noises, however he never said no to anything. His surlyness turned out to be quiet funny actually.

A friend of mine who runs a biz gets all 3 cars serviced there and has done so for the past few years, swears by them (2 Laguna's + Peugot) his father gets his E class done there also, very friendly bunch and seemingly very reliable, I'm thinking of bringing the S in there to get looked after as trying to find a reliable merc one is nigh on impossible.

[ps] nice looking blonde lady floating around the sales floor, an added bonus!

have known lads there for quite a while now and just bought second car from them. bmw 320i 2000 that was serviced before it left and is in perfect nic. i was in the trade for 5yrs and never heard a bad story about them which is not common.
    go for it.

Good guys, not cheap but know their stuff & can be sure they won't rip you off.

These guys are cowboys and still live in the Celtic Tiger. Totally ripped off for telling me what the issue was. They were going to charge double on what another mechanic would do it for. Second mechanic told me it was a disgrace how they packaged the car up because I wouldn't permit them to proceed with job.
