MILK prouldy presents Ameracain techno legend JOEY BELTRAM, along side "i love techno" favorite, CHRISTAIN SMITH and our own legend FRANCOIS at TEN, john street, Co. Waterford on November 25th 2006.

TEN, Waterford has been head first in the battle for being one of the best dance venue's in ireland for quite some time now, bringing you the best in dance music and an atmosphere that just can't be matched any where else. Now on saturday the 25th of November, from MILK events, it holds probably one of the greatest techno gigs to every be held in the south east. Having up to 10 DJ's playing over 2 rooms in just 1 night, it proves to be one night that just can't be missed.

In the main room comes a real treat to any techno fan to wittness the raw talent of one of the best known DJ's on the scene for many years. Born in the United States, Joey Beltram began spinning in Chicago in 1983, dabbling with electro and hip-hop. Soon however, Beltram switched to techno music as techno from Chicago began sweeping through New York City. He began releasing his own material on some small NYC labels and it was the European label R&S that noticed his talent and signed and helped establish Beltram's name. Via R&S, he released a string of early techno classics, most notably "Energy Flash."

Beltram began releasing on Trax in 1983 with "Fuzz," followed by "Flashcube" and "The Start It Up" - which was released as the flipside of Marshall Jefferson's classic track "Move Your Body" in 1987. Those who hadn't heard of Beltram by now surely were exposed to his remixing skills- particularly from his remix of Human Resource's "Dominator" in 1991. His mix was the one that got the big play, with its recognizable "kiss" samples and over-the-top production. His remix catapulted the track to such popularity that MTV requested a video be produced. He gave his remix touch to Lords of Acid "Rough Sex," The Prodigy "Charly," and Smart E's "Sesame's Treet." This was surely the golden age of techno, and Beltram was in the thick of it with these remixes, especially when combined with his own 'no compromises' original releases.

Joey Beltram is a crucial artist to the development of techno and house music

Also in the main room playing along side Joey and Francois is Swedish born Christian Smith. As a DJ and producer, Christian Smith has come to define the tech-house and funky techno sound more so than any other in his field. Highly respected, Christian counts Carl Cox, Junior Sanchez, John Selway and Angel Alanis as some of his biggest allies. The result, a man very much in demand on the worldwide DJ circuit.
Lying at the heart of Christian's popularity is his ability to combine a diverse mix of hard pumping house and tribal funky techno, all segued with a foundation that includes tight three turntable mixing and creative scratching and programming. Not to mention his amazing stage presence.

Warming up for these two heavy weight DJ's is the extremely well known and Irish favorite, DJ Francois. Having being on the scene since the mid 1990's, he has seen and played at every aspect of the techno scene around the whole of Ireland and beyond. Expect to hear on of the best DJ's who will really give Joey beltram and Christain Smith a run for there money.

In the lower room is a real treat as some of the best local DJ's around the south east will be given it there all. On the line up are the very well known Nordine Chigara and Darren Rice along side, hard working DJ's, BIM and Jesus Baracus as well as new starlet Sinead O Connor, plus many more to be conformed.
