Announcement from Aer Lingus today with a number of new routes competing with Ryanair and new direct flights to Athens.

About time, up until last year when Malev introduced summer flights (in the middle of the night) there were no direct flights to Greece from Ireland. Great for getting to the Cyclades.

It's amazing what a bit of competition can do!

    NP :D

Pricing is up on the site today. Exactly the same as Malev with the cheapest return coming in at 219 but the flight times are far superior.

Trip to the Cyclades for me in June. Maybe even a couple of weekends in Athens.

I have to say flights are brilliant times but price I was dissapointed at!!! I got a return flight for Christmas for €158 with Swiss via Zurich incl all taxes. I would have thought Aer Lingus would have been around the same or maybe slightly less . I dont think I will be using this service unless there are any seat sales.

How long do you get stuck at Zurich with Swiss?

Four hours on the outward and 1 hour on the return. I dont mind the 4 hours as I have a card that gets me into the Swiss lounge so free bar!!! Plus I get airmiles also and 40 kilos allowance so it works well for me .
