Well, I've finally decided to buy my first bike after driving scooters for 6 years. I had originally intended to get a CBR250, but fell in love with a Yamaha FZR that I found for sale. I'm just wondering if anyone here has any experience of them be it good or bad, and can offer any advice.

    Thanks.

Bought a jacket on ebay. Transaction was fine, description, delivery etc. Problem is it didn't fit me properly :( I already had a jacket with the same manufacturer of the same size, but this was a different style so the fit wasn't the same.

You need to be able to try on bike gear before you buy. Some would suggest visiting a shop and then buying on ebay...

Had a FZR250 last year and found it a very good bike.

What year is the one you are looking at and what price?

1993. Just over 2 grand. Perfect condition though

Seems a little bit pricey for the year but then again if its in perfect condition.
They are a very under rated bike compared to the Honda CBR250.

They are just as fast and have better low down power thanks to the EXUP.

Its a good engine and you should have no trouble if the bike has been looked after.

Not great comfort for long distance riding and not really designed for pillions.

But as I said a great bike, go for it.

But I would suggest that you try and get the price down a bit.

    Best of luck.

Thanks Niall. Managed to get a couple of hundred off. I've been told to be careful, as they are quite fast. I've drove scooters for six years, and I've gotten lessons on a 250 (to get used to the gears) so hopefully I'll be fine.
