Disposal of Wooden Shed??

    Hi All,

Have moved into an old-ish house that we are renovating. There is an eyesore of a wooden barna shed in the garden that is waaaay too big and is in an absolute jocker - rotten, full of holes and just generally useless. We have a concrete garage also so have no use for this wooden one for storage.

Any ideas how we can get rid? We have filled a skip from the renovation already, but have enough stuff to maybe half fill another standard size skip and maybe squeeze the shed (broken up obv :p ) in too . Is it do-able to take the shed apart and put it in the skip? Would it fit? Is it difficult to take apart? Would the skip driver accept it? Any ideas??

Otherwise any other suggestions? I've no intentions of donating it to the local bonfire..

    Thanks
    Dools

I got rid of my rotting old shed a while back by putting it in a skip, no problems there at all. They're easy enough to take apart ... a crowbar and a large block hammer are all you'll need, plus a saw to chop up some of the larger panels. Remove the roof first, and then bash out the wall panels from the inside.

Easy enough to dismantle, all panels usually pinned together with 3 or 4 3" nails. Remove eaves boards at both sides and then cut felt along ridge you should then be able to use crowbar to open up roof sections. Get these off and the rest will be easy peasy.

Ideally shed dismantled should slot in both sides of skip, otherwsie lay flat on top.

Cheers guys - at least I know it's do-able. Now getting round to it before Christmas is another matter....

Maybe you could organise a shed demolishing party :)
