lost my windows XP cd key

hi, i lost my windows xp cd key. i still have the disk & its installed on my PC but I know sometime in the future im going to have to reistall XP particularly because my HDD sometimes gives errors and its only a matter of time before it dies. is the cd key stored on the win XP disk anywhere or can i get it off my PC…
