I used to play soccer about 3 times a week until i badly broke my leg and im still out injured and will be for a long time yet, so in the meantime im looking for a new hobby or too to fill the void.

So any suggestions, i already play guitar and whatever it is it cant really be physical due to my leg! Suggestions!?

Use this time to hit the gym - work on upper body or something until the leg heals. Just keep up the fitness levels.

Na i dont think the gym is any good for me, theres no pooint in just working the upper body and im never goin to be able to do squats or deadlifts so my days of goig the gym are numbered. id prefer a more fun way to keep fit than the gym anyway.

Im looking for non-physical activity related hobbies too!

Tar doesn't have a broken leg and hes going for that target, and I don't think theres any competing with the ultra-spam-happy Tar.Aldarion ;)

How about knitting? I know it's not traditionally a male hobby but it gives you something to do with your hands while watching tv and requires a fair amount of skill and attention.

You also get the satisfaction of seeing something grow in front of your eyes quite quickly.

May I suggest Satellite Dishes or as we head into the Dark Winter Astronomy, both of which are on my list of hobbies alongside Swimming and Cars, Women are also a hobby but can be expensive.

Maybe you'll meet one that doesn't charge one day.

lol. bit of a slip there eh, netwhizkid.

Try meditation.Your supposed to feel great after it. Never tried it myself so i dont know for sure. Anyway, all you have to do is sit on your butt for a while, so no physical effort is needed.

Nice way of twisting things Talliesin, I meant the whole dating scene not prostitution

I was implying to the OP to maybe take up dating if he doesnt so already, he is in a great position as he is injured and would get sympathy from women plus it would be a great way to break the ice and initiate conversation. I play soccer, I got injured blah blah blah.

I guess I worded it wrong and that played it into Talliesin's court, then again I'd probably have made the same pun.

Of those people who don't date, precisely what percentage of them do you think aren't dating because it simply hasn't occurred to them to do so?

Get stuck into the guitar - it'll pass hours. Maybe buy a second instrument like a keyboard or something - expand your horizons....................

You could write letters to your favourite Television Show Stars and freak them out. Send them pictures of you doing unusual things with their images.

Or write daily to CSI telling them you really want to be the guy who draws the chalk outlines at all their crime scenes.

And when the cops come knocking down your door you can say the extreme empress of evil made you do it.

Besides, i'm sure your fellow inmates will have plenty of advice on how to pass all that spare time.

what about something traditional like playing the tin whistle?
