Tight Foreskin

I have a condition called phimosis. It’s a condition where the foreskin of the penis of an uncircumcised male cannot be fully retracted. It’s rare in adults as most men’s foreskin separate in their early teens.
I have researched information about techniques to reverse this, such as stretching the foreskin, using steroid creams, preputioplasty (minor surgery) or possibly circumcision. Does anybody know of which treatments are most effective? Is there any bad experiences with some of these methods that people have had? I want circumcision as a last resort, even though i do not like my foreskin, i would like to keep it.
As you may be aware this is a very embarrassing problem and women who I have had sex with have commented on this noticeable difference. I cannot even get the foreskin the slightest bit over the head of my penis when erect. This is very damaging to my self-confidence and wants to be able to retract my foreskin to be as people would say "normal".
Any information, personal experiences or advice on this matter would be really appreciative.

Try stretching the skin when you are in a warm bath every so often if you haven't already done so, that should help a little bit and you should find it a bit easier the next time, and so on. I don't know much about those creams though, hope that helps.

A urologist will. Ask your GP for a referral.

There should be a sticky topic re: tight foreskins. The amount of threads about it is astonishing..

I agree, doesn't seem to be as rare as you'd think it would be.

OP: Follow Victors advise and also read the other threads.

Yes other threads are well worth a read.

For my twopence, I've just completed a bout of cream treatment and it has been as good as 100% successful (early 20s). I was very very tight beforehand, with only the top surface of the head visible through the hole, and was very doubtful indeed of any progress being made. Yet after exactly four weeks of steriod cream (applied twice daily), it finally retracted fully in the bath. That was 10 days ago, and it now moves pretty much as God intended :)

Still needs a bit more work, but it's getting there. The only real problem to overcome now is the sensitivity of the head, having never been exposed before. Currently working on that ;)

The cream is definitely well worth a shot OP. And you don't necessarily need a referral to a urologist (not least as they cost €100-€150 a pop). Presuming you don't have a short frenulm, or any form of threatening condition, your GP can easily deal with it, and doesn't necessarily even have to inspect you. In my case, I hadn't been to the doctor in over a decade so didn't even have a GP - so scanned the phonebook and found one. As it happens, the female doctor of the practice was on duty that day, so she offered to take a look if I wanted, but given I was so well informed she just prescribed the cream - a medium strength steriod, costing €12. A standard cream that's used for all sorts of applications - nothing embarrassing about it.

I can tell you I was very relieved she didn't take a look! In all fairness I think she was a teeny bit embarrassed herself, but if you're confident in your problem, can describe it in detail, have researched it, and you're aware of what the issues are, there's no need for any doctor to take a look.

I hope that's of some help to you :)

This is not a medical board and we are not doctors.
Go see your GP and discuss your options.
