What exactly makes you claim that iQon are "sh!te"? Personal experience?

They DO sell a lot of low end Celeron based laptops in and around the €700 retail price mark. They do, however, also have some very good well spec'd and competitively priced high-end Core Duo machines with Windows Media Centre Edition. They sell through dealers like Harvey Norman and Tesco. I'm surprised to see Woodies stocking them, but ... any port in a storm, I guess. They've a lot of competition out there, what with Dunnes flogging Fujitsu Siemens notebooks.

A lot of people seem to think iQon are "sh!te" because they're made in Ireland and aren't one of the bigger names like Tosh, hp or Sony... which is a bit silly to be honest... there's very little or nothing wrong with them. We sell them where I work and, to be honest, we've seen less of them come back with problems than we have some of the "big name" brands.

Alot of people think iQon are sh!te because they are shoddy builds in alot of cases and their support is to be generous, horrible.

I've had an Iqon for four months and never had a problem with it. Got it in Tesco at a bargain price (50% of an already low price to be returned in clubcard vouchers) and haven't regretted it

I got an iQon laptop for a friend and I thought it was pretty nice. The software or lack of crap installed on system was a big plus for me. I didnt come with Norton piece of crap antivirus pre-installed and 20 startup programs hogging all your memory.
I've fixed many laptops for friends and the amount of crap that comes with computers these days is unreal.
