my brother rang up sky last week looking to order a sky+ box off them we have a normal sky box atm the dude on the other end was one of those lovely foreign dudes that cant speak english and gave him a number that isnt in service.

any1 know how you can upgrade to sky+ since the company itself just gives its excisting customers out of service numbers and is of very little help to them ?

I'd talk to a local TV dealer/installer. Might be dearer than the offer Sky give, but you'll get face-to-face customer service in plain english.

Anyone know if the trade has a special deal going on? (I'm thinking of the cash-back off I got when I got Sky+?)

The only offer I'm aware of at the moment is "free" Sky+ when you buy a TV worth €250 or more. I use free in inverted commas, as a €75 installation charge applies.

I think there was a €69 Sky+ offer too, but I'm not savvy with all the details if that's still a valid offer. Sky seem to change their offers in a far-too-often basis.

Agree 100% and they make them way too complicated for the market
