I just went out today and bought myself a DS Lite. Excellent. I love it. I bought three games with it - Mario Brothers, Metroid, and another Mario game (an rpg). I think it was well worth the money. Bought it in Gamestop in Dundalk. Its only open. Hadn't too much of a selection. Any recommendations on what to buy next?

Heard of Trauma Centre and saw the brain traing one(which isn't for me). Will look up Phoenix Wright. Cheers.

These two interest me. I love Mario games. Loved Starfox on the SNES.

As with every thread about what to buy on the DS, i'm going to recommend 2 games, one being the besterest game that's ever been created, electroplankton with all its musical fishy goodness, the other being osu tatakae ouendan, with it's insane male cheerleader jpop goodness. Goodness for all.

I know but I am a wee bit excited about buying one and how good it is. Plus I have had beer. I know there has been numerous threads already. Cheers for the suggestions though, I will look into them. Probably have to go to Dublin to get any that have been suggested though.

Know of anywhere that people can get that without buying online???

I don't know of any but i'm pretty sure there are importers in dublin city centre, there's maybe one on georges street that i heard of before....not sure...sorry, but it's worth any trouble in getting it.

Oh, and to follow up on things other's have said, I would really NOT recomment trauma centre, great gameplay but it's got a ridiculous and really intrusive story that stops you in your tracks in the middle of pulling little evils out of a person's stomach, the only game in a long time i've given up on, and I proudly declare that pathologic is my favourite game of the year, and it's SERIOUSLY annoying. Phoenix wright is fantastic, there's some great humour in there, and excellent character development, and it's a hell of a lot of fun to play. And advance wars comes in a close second on the DS to electroplankton, fantastic stuff, great musack too.

Another game I'd like to recommend is wario ware, even my mother liked it, and the only games she liked were pong, bust a move, and guitar hero.

That's that PC adventure game from foreign parts, isn't it? I've heard very little about it, but it looks intruiging. Like Gregory Horror Show's pretentious teenage brother, who you like even though he's a bit of a bastard.

(Top tip: press select to bypass Trauma Centre's rambling dialogue.)

There's an import shop on one of those lanes off Grafton St called Mr. Calculator. They have a small selection of games, but they charge way over the odds. I don't know if they'd have Ouendan, but it's well worth tracking down. I had a quick go at the last level on super hard earlier today and I still love it.

Really though, you should buy online and import your DS stuff; you can save around €15 on most games by getting from the States, so it's well worth it even if you have to pay with a 3V card.

Yeah but still the nurse would interrupt me while I was working, this game for me, was worse than even GTA SA, which is one of the worst games in existence, even though not many people would agree with me.

Pathologic is an exceptional open ended adventure game from russia with incredibly complicated and poetic dialogue, I genuinely looked forward to talking to people while playing this game, it's fantastic from an artistic and design standpoint, but technically it's horrible, still I'm willing to say it's better than psychonauts, katamari, and SOTC. I really find it hard to explain the wonder of Pathologic....fallout 2 was the last game I played that got me this excited about games.

Cdwow.ie usually have a few US titles for cheap on it.

I finally got my DS lite today with Mario & Luigi. That game is fantastic. Ordered Mario Bros from cdwow so should have that in a week.

Movie Tyme is the cheapest I've found. I've used it a few times without any bother, though delivery seems to take longer for old titles.

Thanks, I am dogboy. Pathologic looks impressive and I'm really interested in its artistic concept, though the technical faults have me wary. I suppose I won't know if the game can convince me to put up with them without buying it and giving it a go, eh?

I agree with you, GTA SA was an overblown trout of a game that lacked anything original and was just ****ing boring to play. Granted. all the GTA's are the same with new graphics/location, but GTA 1 was good because it was new, GTA Vice City had it's charm from its location and cheesiness, San Andreas was just ****.

Is there much of a cost for shipping with these guys? I saw there's free shipping to the UK but what about Ireland?

I wouldn't buy electroplankton unless you see it for around a tenner (which would equate to a Euro for every minute of entertainment it provides...)
Ouendan on the other hand is fantastic, easily my favourite DS game out there:)

I agree. I got bored of Electroplankton fairly quickly. Ouendan on the other hand is pure gold.

Also - definetly get Advance Wars DS.

Mario Kart DS is certainly the biz. Especially if you have wireless and can play other folk online.
