Any Threat/Conflict Management courses in Dublin?

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows of any decent Threat/Conflict Management courses in Dublin? (or any soft skills type training in that general area)

Unfortunately I'll be in the UK for Bob Spour's seminar (which is on the 26th

).

But next time Lee is over I'll definitely make a show (his stuff is great! - just for anyone on the fence:D ).

Hi Paddy,

Yeah, he's apparently on of the top Maui Thai guys in the UK, as well as a very knowledgeable CQB instructor (ex-SAS as you probably know). The seminar in November is a CQB course. So not too sure if you are into that. As far as I know he's was running some Thai stuff in late Oct in Birmingham, but I'm sure he'll be doing more over the next few months.

He s also one of the Top NLP Master Trainers in the UK... a qualification that is very difficult to get, and runs NLP courses, trainings, and certifications.

Plus I think he got some adventure weekend place, where civillians can go and see can they pass an SAS Selection course, or something similar run by ex SAS and Paras.... could be fun to test your metal! I d love to do that for a bit of fun.... !

What's the story with NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programing) anyway? I'm hearing quite a bit about it in the feild of Combatives and self-protection recently.

How does it work?

I got basic Cert in it Level 1.

to use, a word its "an owners mannual for the brain"

Can be used to cure people of phobias, confidence problems, give up smoking, sexual problems...

It is great for communication and can be used in Sales, actuall in speaking to someone or even writing to influence them. I would use this alot.

It can be used to teaching, to people can learn stuff quicker.

I am rusty on it, so I am wrong on to go into it right now, but 2007 I will be brushing up on it, and doing Maters Level in it.

There is good stuff on web if you google for it, with free online courses on the basics.

I used alot of the basic stuff all the time, to change the way I feel too. if I feel crap, I can use NLP and other stuff to change my attitude etc....

I cannot answer your question re combatives as I do not know, but I could teach you to be a top sales man and influencer of people using NLP.

Where did you do your training if you don't mind me asking?

I know Marcus Wayne and Bob Spour use it for various combative visualization. I don't know much about how they use exactly though.

I did it with www.nlp.ie top guys in ireland.

Practictioners Cert. I was supposed to do Master Cert last year wtih Paul Mckenna in UK, but could not go, re thailand move.

Any book on NLP by Joseph O Connor is good, and NLP for Dummies isa great reference mannual.

:)about that, Bill kipps' missing link' is very good, if your a friend of 'millionaire' I,ll bunrt a DVD on this, give him to give you, also, another neglet areas is counter surveillance, very important, especially for ladys self defence

some of it is exellent, but like everything, alot of hype, it does take alot of understanding, and work ,running about saying'whoosh' did,nt do nothing for me, some of it very american, abit OTT ( over the top)but still some solid stuff, and very interest to boots
the founder is fun guy called bandler, a real nutter and laugh, got off a murder rap in usa( I was told, donnu if true,so forgive if not) .so alright with me;)
its good for the switch on/off cocept, we seem to have attacks rituals, if we see doug the thug going into stage 1, we can jump to stage 5, get into state, and give him good kickin, even if we not so good, we get advantages
I like NLP for help slow students, very simply things like embedded commands,
" when yuo,ve finnsihed that set okay, we,ll move on" sunconsciously directs him to do even if he,s fxxxxx useless,postive reinforcement, etc, etc, basic books like o,conners, and NLP, the new scince of success are good basic starts

Was in Easons today and picked up one of his books. Looks like an interesting read so far. I'll let you know how I progress with it. On the surface I can kinda' see how it would be aplicable to Combat - via some vizualization. I believe that Marcus Wayne uses it too.

I'll definitely see what it's all about, as there are some top Combatives figures using it to enhance their game. I always try to keep an open mind with these things.

Yeah Bandler did beat a murder rap....Bandler has a cocaine problem for a while and was hanging about with coke dealers and hookers. some hooker got murdered, and Bandler was charged. google it.

Aside from that he an expert in his field. He only takes on cases who have been to Shrinks for at least 7 or 8 years min, and has sorted some of them out in as little as an hour.

The guy in nuts though... www.richbandler.tv though I haver claimed to be most sane myself. !!!

Visualization is vert important, you can work out on a punch bag, or you can visualize yourself fighting someone...makes a big difference.

also studies have proven this mind technqiue has increase sports performance when tested against athletes who just trained and did not visualize.

If somene annoys me on here, I often viualize taking them apart with intensity and emotion when training, and those training sessions are very intense. So if I ever train with them, I may have the mental edge...assuming I am in shape, and have the ability.

If I am making a business call, I visaulize it going welll using NLP and it really helps.

also Unlimited Power by Tony Robbins about 80% of that book is basic NLP , as he alot of his Personal Power II 30 day audio program, which I highly recommmend.
