Seeing as I'm still lying in my bed I don't think I got screwed by daylight savings

I'm still in bed too, but I did get disorientated during the night.

I did once working as a night porter in a hotel. Had to work an extra hour and management called me cheeky for asking for an extra hours pay to cover this:mad:

Not in work again until Tuesday :) YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!!!

I didn't get fooked over, cos my mammy told me before I went out, that the clocks are goin back.

I thought that that meant I'd have another hour of drinking... how naive :(

Naive indeed! When I was a barman,I lost track of the smart-alec customers we had who were under the impression that "by law" we had to leave the bar open for an extra hour

    You're not the first Dave

Well, it depends how you both approach the problem when the clock goes forward. Will you/they ask that you be paid an hour less for such an evening? Would you have an issue with being paid an hour less if the clock went forward?

Didn't get caugt. Set clocks before going to bed....no problems.

It's a fair point but this issue didn't arise as I was was only there 5 months so I never worked a night when the clocks went forward

Thought I was late for work this morning, came in at what I thought was 8:55. (Meant to be in at 8:45).

Was then informed I was actually an hour eary due to Daylight saving time...

Where has this new 'daylight saving term' thingy come from? its always been GMT & BST as far back as I can remember ~ or has the lingo been changed this year?

I put my watch back during the day at work yesterday. Wanted to see if it would make the day go by quicker and oddly enough it did.

I bloody woke up at 6:30 this morning. Put my watch and phone back and then couldn't get back to sleep. Tried to go for an early pint with a mate but couldn't get in anywhere. Ah well. At least I wasn't working.

How early were you trying to go for a pint?!

The only difference that I experienced today was that I was up an hour earlier, which was 2:30 in the afternoon so nothing major there.

Yes, my mother and I were in this mad rush for church, practically not tying the shoelaces, got there and the doors were closed. Hmm. Then we saw someone else coming down the road and it slowly dawned on me just as he said, 'Ah, you've done the same thing as me!'

Was quite nice actually cause we went for breakfast in Cafe Java. They had a lot of customers and I idly wondered if anyone else was going somewhere at eleven, and had turned up at ten.

Then we were in loads of time for church.

Don't suppose we could do this all the time?

We were looking to go at nine. Ended up going at 11. Stayed out for a while and then home and going back out in a bit (that was the plan. Out early and home early so we can go back out tonight). An hour earlier was 2:30?

ArthurF, BST/GMT is imperalist apparently. ;) I managed to wake at 7 am despite not needing to go anywhere today. Got up ate breakfast and then went back to sleep, which I should never do as when I got up properly at 9.30 I had a thick head.

    Mike.

An hour earlier was 2:30 :)

If you're in Dublin, you could have tried the WhiteHorse Inn.

In Dundalk. We contemplated both Dublin and Belfast. No trains though. Only one I know in Dublin that early is Molloy's.
