Got kicked out of a club accused of groping female staff member (I did not i swear on everything even that clubs security cameras

so has anyone elce been in a situtation like this?

the gardai wouldent take my complaint because i had been drinking , so what does a irish citizan do besides firebomb the place?

I mean i will go and report it when im sober but the gardai have failed me twice before and last time the gardai failed me i said it to the forensic (sp) dective that if the gardai fail me a 3rd time that i would deal with all three offensives against me myself and he said i cant do that, but i mean comeon there has to be a point when a person now matter how patient says "No"

"Weh weh mister police man those bouncers were mean to me!"

Grow up and go to a different club. What the hell do you expect the cops to do? Arrive at the nightclub and arrest the bouncers? Soothe your ego and give you a lift home?

They have drug dealers, rapists and muggers to arrest; they couldn't be bothered with the irrelevant whining of some (possibly)drunken individual who got thrown out of a club, and rightly so.

    Perspective.

You might have had a "grope" of the gardai

Management refuse the right of admission. There was no crime committed, so why did you call the police? Reminds of the audio clip where a lady in the states called the cops from the drive through window as burger king wouldn't make her a western burger. Clicky

were the other two garda failures also to do with groping claims?

"You're supposed to be here to protect me!"
"What are we protecting your from, a wrong cheeseburger?"

Hah. I think I am in love with that dispatcher. :)

The pity of it all is I'm sure her kids are going to grow up to be morons just like her. Great, three more idiots in the world to look forward to. :(

They're not a generic help desk. If someone has a complaint about a crime done to them, sure, they should help. Whiney guy with no legal complaint is and should be irrelevant.

something similiar happened me few years back, not gropping, but got escorted for being too drunk no questions asked, truth was they mixed up the fact that I had Cerebral palsy rather then being drunk, and they were kind of rough with me , gardai didnt want to know as I had being drinking.......two pints was all that I had, had.

Gardai will not take statement or complaint if you have any alcohol in your system

Wrote to the club 3 times no reply so I went to visit the manager. He said he got my letters was very sorry it had happened, but wasnt going to write back to me as he would be admitting liability.

    Lurk wrote:

Theft and breaking and entering (2 seperate incidents) and the gardai never done anything
    most breakins go unsolved anyway

Also not as easy as going to another club like a few had suggested i was down in carlow my mates band was playing so all my mates where in that club for the gig

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 68,317 ✭✭✭✭seamus

No smoke without fire tbh mate. I have never been even remotely accused of anything to do with a club's staff, nor have I ever witnessed anyone ever being thrown out for abusing or otherwise interfering with club staff.

Then again, someone may have groped her, and she accidentally identified you. In this case I'd just write it down to bad luck and get over it.

no she was a lying bitch is all
i was waiting half way up/down the stairs half way between beer garden and bar and she told me i cant stand there and that i wasent allowed up the the beer gerden anymore so i said why and she wouldent give me a answer so i went to the mannager who said that its her call and then i went back to the bar and 10 seconds later 3 bouncers drag me out saying i grouped her and they wouldent even let me speak to the mananger again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,371 ✭✭✭✭Zillah

Why were you hanging around the stairs? What did you do to be barred from the beer garden?

Frankly I'm starting to suspect you're an alcoholic liar who hates women but I guess we'll never be sure.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,905 ✭✭✭User45701

Well i dont reley know what to say to that what do u mean by alcoholic ?

Yup. Nothing worse than landing on the pavement face first and getting up thinking "WTF did I do?" ;)

There sure are a lot of naysayers in AH willing to jump on the OP here and call him all manner of things, from an alcoholic to a liar....he deserves the benefit of the doubt at least....I mean why come on to a messageboard and randomly make up lies or massage the truth?
The waitress or whatever in this case certainly wouldn't be the first woman in existence to make up a bullsh*t story about an inappropriate sexual advance for the purposes of revenge (or even just on a whim) and we all know that the vast, vast majority of bouncers are the type that like to act first and think later...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,905 ✭✭✭User45701

    Cheers Wertz

ive been on boards for a good while now and i know allot of ppl hate me because i dont spell everything right and they dont like some of the things i say but i dont post bull**** or lies so why do people think i would arrive home at 4am and decide to make up a load of lies

The gardaí are not your mammy. Their job is to defend your rights. And while you might have some sort of injustice against you, they have more important stuff to deal with.

Don't waste their time. Schedule a meeting with the manager of the club. Sort your own problems out.

To protect and serve - boom boom

Mercy, if i was to guess I'd say she has some sort of addiction to prescription drugs. Funny stuff!

This is probably the best course of action here.
Also less of the cheapshots towards the OP please, don't post if you have nothing worthwhile to say.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,909 ✭✭✭✭Wertz

On the gardaí thing....what if the waitress in question was completely vindictive and had decided to go to the cops herself with an embellished or fabricated story?

In that case the OP is defending himself from a possible charge...were such a charge to come to court, might not a prosecuting solicitor or a judge enquire as to why the OP hadn't reported such a (possibly) false allegation at the time it had been made?
IMO making a false allegation of what legally amounts to sexual assault should be a punishable offence...who comes out worse in a situtation like this....the girl telling lies or the guy who gets his reputation tarnished amongst his peers...?

Although that said, as others have pointed out, the cops won't listen to you with a drink in you, let alone take a statement...
..and yeah, they probably have other more pressing issues in the early hours of sunday moring on a holiday w/e

Oh jesus christ, where was it? Thats what I never get about posts here, all these awful things happen in x shop or y nightclub/pub. A few months ago someone posted that the guards hadnt bothered removing an ATM skimmer from an ATM near Henry Street. Despite 3 requests the person didnt have the common sense to tell us which one so we might avoid it, or better yet see it and get an idea of what they look like in the flesh, so to speak.

Sure anyway, what are the cops going to do? Its not illegal to throw you out for pretty much any reason.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,245 ✭✭✭✭Fanny Cradock

ATM skimmers aside, I would think that it may not be a good idea for the owners of boards to allow unsubstantiated claims about businesses on their site.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,909 ✭✭✭✭Wertz

Naming and shaming in a he said-she said case involving a business is fairly likely to either get a post edited or deleted and/or a thread locked, before the solicitors come calling...

Staff do lie in these places to deliberately get people into trouble if they don't like them. However there's nothing you can do about it except not give them your business. If a shop gave you really bad service would you be whinging about not being able to hand them over your hand earned money? I should think not, so why should it be different for a club?

Basically in my world, if any business gives me poor service - which woulkd include a dishonest staff member - I'd simply not go there again and advise all my friends to stay away.

For the record, my partner had a huge problem in Cork at one stage because of one mentally unwell army cow from Mallow who had ban mouthed her around half of Cork. As a result she found herself not only harassed by friends of this woman who were bar staff, they were making accusations against her to get her kicked out and barred.

So she gave them a goo reason to get her into trouble next time and whacked one of them a good shiner. She didn't have any trouble ever again.

So next time you see this cow (if ever) make sure you give her a good grope and tell her you are making up for what you missed out on last time she accused you of it . . . otherwise, forget it and move on. Gardai will laugh at you and regard you as a waste of time.

It really isnt the gards business as no offence was committed, except to your pride. I Remember my nephew was stopped going into a club in plaoise, because he had the wrong type of coat on... depsite the fact is was asmall mixed group of three...
I just said No problem and we wont be going to this club again. No use getting upset in that instance. Nothing you can do.

You can send a letter to the management explaining how you feel you were treated...
Did you have any witnesses though? and did the gards write anything down when you went to see them as if you get no joy from the manager and wish to pursue it then your only option is a solicitor. But you do need some sort of corroborative evidence.
However, It may be simplest just to let off steam and then just forget the whole thing, chalk it up to experience

I agree. It's understandable you're annoyed but unfortunately it's unlikely there's much you can do about it. If anything I'd try speaking with the manager first anyway.

Although I suppose you could say an offence was committed against you in that this woman made a false allegation against you - but I doubt you'll get anywhere with that!

Unfortunately I bet they'll take a statement with a drink in you if it's an admission of guilt...
