Query about Aberystwyth

I'm thinking of going to the UK and doing primary teaching and someone suggested I try Aberystwyth in Wales and highly recommended the course. However someone else told me that you need to have a degree in one of the core subjects in the UK such as English, Maths, History etc. My degree is in IT. Is this true and if so are there other places in the UK that will accept a information technology degree?

I don't know about Wales, but I would recommend trying Glasgow University as well. I qualified in Secondary teaching there and there was a student on the Primary course whose degree was in Business. I think she had worked with children between her degree and applying for the PGDE.

In Scotland you're also guaranteed a year employment after qualifying - so it is worth considering.
