CD Drive Problem

    Hi,

    I have a laptop im trying to fix for a friend. They were trying to install a game but kept getting an error that a file couldnt be found. I browsed to the folder and there were no files there. So i tried the disc in my own computer and there was a load of extra files that werent showing up on the laptop. I taught it may be admin priveledges or something but the user is setup to be administrator and allowed to install programs and change settings etc

    So could this be something as silly as a driver issue, seems strange its picking up some files but not others. For example in the folder in question it shows no files or folders on the laptop and on my pc it shows 1 folder with 4 files in it......Weird

    It was Sims 2 Pets Expansion Pack,

    Turned out that it was a problem with Nero or so ive read Alchohol etc cause similar problems with not being able to read them. It recommends steps to avoid this but i done a manual install instead by networking the laptop to my computer where it could read the files properly and i copied all the files to the laptop and ran the installation of the hardrive and it worked a treat.

    Heres the file it couldnt find just for the search engines:
    TSData\Control\control0.dat
