I was thinking of buying a set of drum triggers, a trigger to midi convertor, and a midi module for use on a set of acoustic drums. its your standard 5-piece rock kit. What i'm trying to achieve is a more electronic sound from the drums, primarily the kick drum, which i want to sound like a techno kick drum.

Does anyone have any experience using triggers on acoustic drums, if so, any recommendations? are there any decent midi kick and snare sounds?

Also, it seems that a trigger to midi convertor and a sound module costs at least €290. and since i only want to trigger the kick and snare, are there any more basic modules out there that might do this and cost less? Comments much appreciated.
