Not exactly sure where to throw this thread, but it's for a htpc so I'll try here first, apologies if it's the wroing place....

I'm looking for flat Cat5e cable to stick underneath wooden flooring, like this: http://www.vpi.us/cable-sf.html

Don't fancy the shipping charges from the states, and kind of need it in a hurry, does anyone know of any bricks 'n' mortar shop here I'd get it in, or anywhere in Europe online? Tried Komplett and a couple of others but they don't seem to stock it...

Also, while I'm at it I'll ask a dumb question.... I want to stick 5.1 speakers in a room, but won't be getting the speakers until after the flooring goes in. I assume speaker cable is standard? As in can I pick up a roll of speaker cable and lay that under the flooring and then swap connecters onto it when I get the speakers?

    Thanks for any replies.....

If you are planning on Cat5 and speaker cable under the wooden floor, I assume its battened - so why not just regular(not flat) cat5 which you should have no problem picking up?
Not all speaker cable is created equal - what you go for depends on your budget, amp and speakers. If you are planning on laying the cable and forgetting it I'd be inclined to pick a high grade cable, if you scrimp on it now its gonna be a pain to upgrade! I've used cabletalk 3.1 which is excellent, think they have a smaller version of this now too.
A neat way to tidy up the connectors too is one of these http://www.nexxia.co.uk/Wall_plate_Connectors/Dolby_Speaker_wall_plates.htm

Sourced the one in the link above through a UK supplier, what issues would it have with reliability? Since it's flat there might there be a performance drop?

Thanks for that link Coley, they look very neat, might stick them on the shopping list...
