    Nah,It was a weak El-Nino that has sheared these Atlantic storms and pushed them in our general direction.There were a few Hurricanes which formed from tropical waves off the African coastline and which maintained there strenght for some time.

    Although i have heard this theory before about dust.Not proven as yet.
