The Guardian

Myself and the missus went to the cinema to see The Departed yesterday. Unfortunately it was sold out so we took tickets for the next movie that was showing which happened to be The Guardian.

I wasn't expecting much, Ashton Kutchner and Kevin Costner in one movie, with lots of emotion and heroic possibilities for Costner, it wasn't looking good. But, I have to say ignoring the rather predictable and annoying ending it was rather good. The acting wasn't too bad actually and the dynamic between Costner and Kutchner was good. At several points throughout the movie the audience were laughing away, with the movie and not at it.

So while it will never win any oscars and while I won't be rushing out to buy it on DVD, it was a pleasent surprise. The acting was better than I thought it would, Costner restrained himself until the end, the action was good and there was plenty of laughs.

If you looking to kill an hour or two, it's well worth going along.

Yeah I liked it too. My only problem is that if you look up the word 'Cliché' in the dictionary, it would say "See: The Guardian".

Very predictable, about a half hour too long, but enjoyable enough.

Just watched this on BBC recently. Quiet enjoyed it thought it was very good and very well done. Was it based on a true story do?
