    Yes, a thread about the theme. Always the most important part of Doctor Who, because it is one of the best theme tunes ever.

    Has the new theme (Ninth & Tenth Doctor, Eccleston and Tennant) made a release yet?

    And did the correct the middle eight, because it was certainly missing from Eccleston series?

    Didn't the middle eight make an appearance in the end titles of a few episodes of the first Tenant series?

    The middle eight is there at the end credits for the Tennant series, which is on UKTV Gold at the mo. I'm sure it was in the Ecclestone end credits as well. I'm sure that BBC3 will do another re-run before christmas, we'll know for sure then, unless ye have got the DVD's....

    Wikipedia says the the middle 8 was used from The Xmas invasion onward but not in the eccleston series.

    It was only re-introducted when the theme was re-recorded with the national orchestra of Wales for the Xmas Invasion.

    All correct, I remember there was loads of fuss on Outpost Gallifrey after Xmas Invasion because the announcer had talked all over the brand new middle eight!

    A full soundtrack CD is coming out in a week or two; still no info on Amazon about it, though.

    Brilliant! I sir, salute you!

    Orbital did a class remix of the Dr Who theme, was half unconscious when i heard it tho. Don't suppose anyone has it?

    From memory the details of all the covers & samples are mentioned on the Wikipedia entry for the theme tune.

    Yes the theme has its own Wiki page - I lolled.
