    Man sentenced over road deaths
    26 October 2006 15:52

A 19-year-old man has been given a three year sentence after pleading guilty to a charge of dangerous driving causing the deaths of two teenagers in Co Clare three years ago.

David Naughton, with an address at Westside House in Co Galway, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing the deaths of 16-year-old Stacey Haugh and her 13-year-old friend Lorna Mahoney at Carrigaholt on 17 October, 2003.

The two girls were back seat passengers in a car being driven by Naughton which went out of control and crashed into the sea wall, killing them both instantly.
