    hi there.

i have a ripwave modem which is performing ok,havent had any issue with them yet. however, i wanted a wifi network,so got a netgear wgr614fs router.

i plugged in the cable from ripwave into the router and went in the router GUI. it recognised the modem signal in the setup wizard and i didnt have to input anything and was working fine.

however, for some reason, after 1 hour, no more internet through the router.

if i connect directly by cable to the modem, i have internet, and my wireless connects with no problem with the router.

now whenever i do the netgear setup wizard again, it says this is a static ip, which it isnt. irish broadband confirmed theirs is a dynamic service.

as a result, i cant use wireless at all to access the internet, just the router GUI.

    is there any compatibility issues?
i had the same problem with a netgear dg814gt on smart telecom. it worked for like one hour then decided to stop transmitting internet.

i changed for a linksys wag54g which works perfectly.

is this an issue with netgear stuff?

    any help?Thanks!
