Ruling

    I dropped in to the local boozer last night as a couple of friends were playing the local pub game when this hand had just occurred;

    blinds are 200/400 and 5 callers see a flop, player 1st to act pushes allin for around 6k and its folded around to the button who turns around to take a sup of his pint while thinking what to do.

    The Guy whos all in doesnt realise there is still one player to act then says 'I had trips' and throws his cards face up on the table when the guy next to him says 'quick theres still one player to act' and he picks up his cards before the player still to act has seen the cards or hears what he had.

    So the Guy to act questioned what happened and what he showed and All other players at the table told him to play on as normal as he and the guy allin are the only two in the hand so it doesnt matter?? He went along with this as he was unsure and didnt call for a TD

    I told him after the hand that I thought the correct ruling was that he had mucked his hand and he (the button) should have won the pot?

    What would be the correct ruling? Maybe the cards should remain face up and the player on the button still has to act now knowing what he is against?

    I think that's what should have happened.

    I think the ruling as given is fine. Killing your mans hand here is over the top. I would however like to know what he is doing betting 6k into a 2k pot with trips!!!!
