does anyone know how i'd get a list of european universities that cater for english speaking masters. i've found a couple but i'm sure there's loads.

basically want to do a postgrad in economics somewhere abroad, be it Europe, Asia, or Africa. Whereever i can find a cheap one/ get a scholarship.

    any help would be appreciated

Could try calling into the careers service. They keep loads of info about postgrads and would be particularly helpful with finding English speaking ones abroad.

Really? Never had a problem with them and have had plenty of contact over last 12 months. Found them excellent as a knowledge source at least, if not for actual advice.

Ditto. The leaflets, emails, extra course they give you when you don't ask are completely useless IMHO. However any time I've gone up there asking for information I've always been very impressed by their helpfullness and the range of info. I'd advise going up and seeing them and/or setting up an appointment with (in your case) Colette Aungier.

You should look at applying to the Netherlands, both Leiden and Groenigen offer English-language postgraduate courses, and there are a few funding opportunities but more importantly the fees are incredibly low - I think about €1500 for an MA. I've also heard that studying in Sweden and Finland is very well-funded.

But to be honest the best funding packages are in the States and in Canada - if you're good enough they'll take you in with a full scholarship for the whole way through, covering fees, health insurance, and a stipend to live on too. Having said that postgraduate programs are longer in North America - 4-6 years is the recommended time for doing a PhD for most humanities programs, with many people taking longer (even up to 10 or 12 years) and it is quite far away from home. But it's worth considering.
