just wondering if anyone here has experience of installing a hard drive in a Powerbook G4 ?

my current 40 gb hard drive is approaching capacity, and i'm toying with installing a larger drive ... i'm guessing they use standard 2.5 inch IDE drives

    any thoughts / advice ?

Changing them is easy enough alright.

You can use Carbon Cloner to clone your existing installation to another drive.

I've done this twice with my PB-G4 (Ti book). Original HD was 10GB. That filled up quickly so I upgraded to a 40GB and then to 80GB last year.
Not too difficult. Plenty of instructions online. Need precision screw drivers and a steady hand.
To transfer files I put the old HD into an external firewire enclosure (something like this) and was able to bring across what I needed.
