Aldi and lidl have them every now and then

This place sells refurbs and also has auctions on ebay, have used them once or twice, sometimes the items are good value

Power City had a Pye DVD Recorder for €99 about 9 months ago, a number of people from boards bought them. Records very well DVD R+. Just checked their website and it's not mentioned but imagine their cheapest in store offering can't have risen from that point yet.

Link to the discussion about Philips versus the cheaper PYE back in the good ol days of February

Have bought a refurb dlp projector in january, havn't had any problems with it. Also bought a refurb dell pda a few months back which is perfect.

Both items were like new as far as I could see.

You only get a 90-day warrenty so there is a bit of risk.

Now, for the bad story I bought a dvd recorder for about €50 from them, which was never sent out. I waited for 2 weeks, email a few times and finally asked for my money back from paypal and that was fine. So that wasn't a great experience.

They seem to be based in blanchardstown but only send stuff, no collection.

I've only dealt with them through ebay auctions, make sure you check postage charges before buying too.

I bought a stereo , arrived with a big hole in speaker , and I mean BIG

sent back (you have to pay delivery back )

    replaced

    2nd stereo didn't power up!

Later heard a mate bought a different stereo from them and the cd plyer doesnt work.

we got ours at very low prices on ebay and I did wonder if the quality was dependent on the final price you paid ?

I got a Bush DVD recorder from them worked out at about 65 quid with delivery. It's a refurb but in perfect nick and works a treat. Just be aware their prices are in sterling as is their delivery charge!!

Try not to go for those Philips DVD Players, I worked in a large electrical retailer and we had a lot of them back, both the recorders and the regular players. We have an LG and it's great.
