inspired by the odd tangential poetry-related discussion on Bop's thread but unwilling to give him any more airtime...

    Shuffle
    slender fingers riffling
    dispensing random chance
    across green felt

    cards held tightly
    angled towards me
    73 offsuit again

    stacked chips of green
    march over the line
    never to return?

you never know - more may follow...there was some dude in the Imperial Court in Kyoto who used to crank out 4,000 of these babies every day

Not sure if I have this Haiku lark down, but sure I'll give it a go.

    How could I ever win
    The Chief is here
    Another player gone

    Hand over some cash
    Then get chips
    Before walk of shame

Lol, that's quite possibly the most coherent haiku I've ever read.

    Dealer-Ku

    A nod from a dealer
    As you sit
    Sets you apart

    Most may never
    Attain this honour
    This is assumed

    Back we come
    Still no nod
    Someday, someday.
