    1) Is ir true that it's now 2 years in lenght?

2)Do you have to apply for it in Ireland or can you apply for it when abroad?

    Cheers

Have a funny feeling it's 2 years but you can only do about a year's worth of work but on't quote me on that. Have a google for Australian Immigration and it should point you in the right direction.

It's not automatically 2 years in length. You get the initial visa which is for one year and give you permission to work for the year as long as you don't work in the same job for more than 6 months (they recently raised it from 3 months).

If you do 3 months "harvest work" which is basically fruit picking or farm work then you can apply for a second working holiday visa for another year. On the second visa you can again work for the year with the same 6 month restriction. You can however go back and work in the same job as you did in your first year. There are restrictions about what areas count for the harvest work. All the info is available on the Immigration website.

So in theory you could arrive in Oz, do your harvest work and then get a job for a full year (the last 6 months of your first visa and the first 6 months of your second visa).

I'm not sure about applying from abroad. I imagine you can but don't quote me on that one.

If you apply here you have one year to enter Autralia after you receive your visa.

    Don't go near Visafirst!!

Just apply on the Oz site yourself, will save you about 50-100euro
and is just as fast (I got mine in 24hrs)

There are TONS of harvesting work in Oz, but believe me this is only the work for the desperate (In my opinion of course) it's hard work, and pretty badly paid. But you can apply for a 2nd WHV you must complete at least 3months harvesting work in regional Australia.

I live in Oz now (on business visa) if you want any questions, just PM me and I'll reply

Usit, Visa first = waste of money.
Go straight to http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/work...iday/index.htm and you'll have your visa in 2/3 days tops.

Eh just a question for the last 2 posters, how did you both get your visas so quick from http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/work...iday/index.htm ?

Says on the checklist for application to include passport, bank statement or proof of return ticket etc. how did you show those details online?

    You don't need them
just provide your passport number, and if they need to do a check they will contact you (highly unlikely)

your visa is linked to your passport, so when you arrive if you don't have a passport you can't get the visa

You don't need a return ticket

    application page : http://www.immi.gov.au/e_visa/visitors-outside-whm-visa-options.htm
