Im going to see Dropkick Murphys, ive been looking forward to it for a while, and been thinking maybe someone could recommend an album I could buy prior to the gig to get the best of their music into me. Some of the songs I like include 'Shipping Up to Boston', 'The Auld Triangle' and their covers of Irish folk songs like 'Fields of Athenry' and 'Wild Rover'....if anyone knows where I can get a cheap album id love to find out? Any help?

Tower Records on Wicklow Street sell a lot of their stuff (for around €15). From the songs you mentioned, I'd say you'd like the albums 'The Warrior's Code' and 'Blackout' (they'll probably play a lot of the stuff off these albums at the gig). I'd recommend their old albums 'Do Or Die' and 'The Gang's All Here' too. They also have a live album. But I'd say go into Tower and have a look through the Punk section yourself would be the best.

Tower's a ****in rip off. Just get them online. I'm sure all the Murphys stuff is available on i-tunes shop thing, tbh.

Blackout is the best of them. If you have a credit card, or access to one, you can buy them cheap on www.audiolunchbox.com (the band get much more money this way too!)

Cheers man got The Warriors Code in Freebirds on Wexford St for 10Euro second hand! I love 'Sunshine Highway' and 'Green Fields of France' as well as those previously mentioned.

Actually, as an interesting point to note, Sunshine Highway was incl. as the last track on a free Metal Hammer Disc last year and wrongly labelled the Auld Triangle. Ive been trying to get a hold of that track ever since i lost the disc...didnt no wot it was called because it was wrongly labelled, and absolutely LOVE that song!

I can only imagine why you were snipped, and I say imagine, cause I cant talk about it. My favourite song has to be 'Green Fields of France' its just brilliant
