It's the Irish Bars that charge the crazy prices!

Why bother going to Paris at all?

Have a wander around Montemartre or the Marais, soak up some culture and enjoy the small cafes on side streets that are full of Parisiens. Pick up the Lonely Planet compact guide. Very useful!

Paris is expensive, but although you may pay the same for dinner as you would here, you'll get way better quality of food and wine for your price in Paris. I can't remember the name of the area, I'd have to look at a map to remind myself, but the Jewish quarter has great food at fairly good prices.

But don't go to Paris expecting to go to an Irish bar on the piss and pay Eastern European prices, it's a pricey town but it is fabulous.

There are loads of streets in the Latin quarter whith nothing but resturants, loads of selection and great prices as a result. Found Monmartre to be quiet pricey compared to Latin Quarter, as stated above get the Lonely Planet
