You should be able to get them off your old router. Failing that, knowing which ISP you're on would be a help for finding out.

Have you removed the filters from one of the phone lines? Or perhaps connected the router to the wrong line off the filter?

i cant actually find a place to put the vci and the vpi into the router settings . what im wondering is if anyone knows of any probloms with firmware for this type of router .

ive been trying to get onto the linksys website but it keeps timing out

I don't think there is an ADSL modem in that router, therefore there is no place to put those settings. You would usually set them on the modem you are using.

The Linksys Compact Wireless-G Broadband Router is really three devices in one small box. First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect both screaming fast Wireless-G (802.11g at 54Mbps) and Wireless-B (802.11b at 11Mbps) devices to the network. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. Connect four PCs directly, or attach more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need. Finally, the Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection.

Yep, it's 3 devices in one, buit one of those devices is not an ADSL modem...
