    Hey Guys,
If I put a podcast containing copyrighted music on a site, and only allow visitors to listen (rather than download to their PC's) am I breaching copyright? The podcasts would not be from a radio station so radio royalties would not cover the broadcast. Is there a way round it if it is illegal?
    Thnaks in advance

It wouldn't be allowed without the permission of the copyright owners (and payment of royalties), and there isn't really a way around it.

I suggest talking to IMRO. www.imro.ie

If you don't think you'll get much traffic, you can do a deal with them on a price (it could work out very cheap)

But best thing to do is ring them and explain what you are trying to do! But make it clear how much people you expect to utilise it and how much (if anything) you are making from your website!

You could use tracks from http://music.podshow.com and avoid all legal challenges when adding music to podcasts.

kinda related. if someone is interviewed after a match, or something is said on the news. Can you record that audio and put it in your podcast.
Eg if the cork hurling manager said something that was played on th 9 o clock news can you record and use it in a podcast?

Any time I take a clip from my radio show to put up as a podcast, I have to make sure that all commercial music is removed from it too (even if it's music performed by the people being interviewed in the clip).
