Right. First off the bat, am I the only one who thinks they are playing the bisexual card a little too much already? It was interesting when they had us believe that it was to be a Capt. Jack thing, but so far it seems like they intend using it on everyone. Doesn't that run the risk of diluting it? I want to see stories with interesting characters, not soft core pron with stories attached on the side.

Anyway, I thought this was a far better episode than Everything Changes. Much more in the Doctor Who tradition of story telling, with an obviously more grown up perspective than was allowed before.

I agree, its a little bit overdone, wonder how it'll play out over the next two weeks on BBC2, and when the letter writers start tearing into the Radio Times, even better when the S*n and S**r newspapers review it....

As for the ep in itself I think it calmed down a lot from the first one,
but still the team have a charater by numbers look to them. If you didnt know Capt Jacks background you wondnt be at a loss, but it helps that you do. A few newbie jokes, and I thought that the focus of Gwen on the human who was suffering as opposed to the rest of the team looking at caputing the alien was a good point and made the show interesting.

The scene in the nightclub toilets was a little wierd, as you still tend to look at this as a Doctor Who show, but the little joke about the bouncer and the CCTV coverage was good.

Next week they'll have to stop having Capt Jack proving that he cant die (run a train over him for a laugh) and yes, stop the swearing and the snogging, we get it already. Otherwise a good little show.

A lot of running around next week, oh dear, lost the plot already?

The swearing didn't bother me, it wasn't that frequent. But the sex and snogging was a bit cringeworthy. Other than that I enjoyed it. It has to tie in with Dr who at some stage, torchwood turns up often enough, plus they big time hinted that if Jack wants to resolve his issues he needs to find the doctor. The one thing that would really annoy me is if he does get it together with Gwen.

This one was probably better as it had more charm than the first, which being an intro was a little clinical. It made better use of the adult license - sure the sex could be accussed of being titilating but it was also an essential plot point.

Swearing wasn't too much OTT and the violence was at a fine level.

Characters fleshed out a bit better this week. I liked the way they did attribute a degree of blame to Gwen showing that responsibility for ones actions, a more adult concept, is at least in play here. She should not, however, get with Cptn. Jack. I'm sick of shows forcing these artificial relationships where the two leads must get together. Hopefully the fact she has a home life will mean this won't happen in this case.

Did people catch the subtle Who reference by Jack?

"Go home, Gwen Cooper. Eat lasagne."

    Very similar to:

"Go home, Rose Tyler. Eat chips." (paraphrase)
