    Hi Lads,

Can you confirm to me that in Ireland we get Sky from 28.2 degrees reason I want to know is that finally it looks like cams for Sky cards to work in Media Center 2005 are out and working, but I just wanted to check before I buy.

    Thanks
    TCP/IP

Yes, Sky and its package of channels are all broadcasted from 28.2 or 28.5. Don't worry about the .3 difference!

    Where? Says who?
If so they will work in anything....

I'd like to believe this, but I'm skeptical.

You may be thinking of this:
    http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=319927

Which is frankly nearly nonsense. It is not supported by Sky/NDS and only approaching reliable for a FTV card and may stop working tomorrow.

Really the ONLY true PVR solution for Sky Pay channels is Sky+ or SkyHD. If Sky really has released a CAM for MCE then I'll order one. I have three PC pased PVRs and a ReelBox with dual Sat tuner also (it has Neotion card reader built in CAM and CI for 3rd party CAM, 320G disk and DVD writer.)

Not recommended for investment. Works for a narrow definition of "work" and for an unknown period.

    Basically it doesn't work properly.

Also you need a Sky box to refresh the card keys...

I feel close to banning people that promote this stuff here (regularly) which is NOT a workable solution for Sky Pay channels outside of a Digibox.

If you use a Sky card and not card sharing it is just on the side of legality. It is an extreme hobbyist / hack solution that ordinary people should not waste time and money on.
