Anyone watch the first 2 episodes of Torchwood last night on BBC3? Nice to see some adult sci-fi on TV. Humour, good sci-fi, bad language and gore are a good combination!

I'll definitely be tuning in next week....

Is there any connection to Dr. Who?

Its a very weak link (which is good). I think it needs to stand on its own two feet without relying on blue police boxes!

the second was way better than the first, the first was weak, took ages to get going and was a weak story, the second was much better with far more character interaction.

The main character appeared in 5 episodes of Doctor Who, so the link is certain.

Torchwood was also the working title for new Doctor Who series according to the always unreliable imdb.com

Torchwood is also an anagram of Doctor Who and Torchwood featured heavily in an ongoing story arc in season 2 of the new Doctor Who.

There's a Doctor Who forum these days actually:

I have to say I really enjoyed both episodes, I liked the opening episode starting almost like an episode of 'the bill', then veering off into sci-fi territory!
I also like that they havent put all the information about Captain jack out there yet, leave you a lot of episode to find out how he got from the space ship to earth and involved with Torchwood.

If anyone missed it on BBC3 its repeated on BBC2 on Wed at 9pm....

Didn't even know they were on! So much for the BBC's marketing department. Downloading now will watch tomorrow night.
