IT Helpdesk Support Interview

    Im just wondering if anyone has been for one and if so what kinda stuff do they generally ask. Ive been for a few programming interview(which tend to be very technical). Is there much of a difference between the two? Any info at all would be much appreciated.

    Helpdesk and programming would be miles apart in terms of interviews. Like you said programming interviews would be very techie whereas helpdesk interviews ( in general ) would be less so. Just try and mention you have great comm skills, teamplayer, customer focused and then talk about what you know wrt the position e.g. O/S, Apps, Infrastructure etc.

    Would agree with that, I've been in interview panels for Helpdesk type job and you wouldn't be expecting a huge amount of detailed technical skills.

    It is more customer focused type answers that they will be looking for, general cop-on, and definitely a broad knowledge of IT/Technical areas, but they wouldn't (usually!) be looking for very detailed answers at all.
