my main bet for the day

    2.50 Aintree

    Potts Of Magic

Likes the ground, same weight as it was when it won a class 3 race back in july (its the bottom weight). 12/1 ( if price goes up boyles will give you the higher price)

will also have small each way bets on

    Ebony Light - 4.15 Wincanton

    11/1
Getting a bit old, but likes the ground and distance and has a good record with Dobbin.
Steps down to class 2 but is carrying a good bit more than usual.

    Star Wood - 4.00 Curragh
    14/1

Also looking forward to seeing Kauto Star but certainly won't be backing him. Although the step up to 2m4f should suit, he has to carry top-weight in softish ground against decent opposition and has tipped up a couple of times. Mister McGoldrick has a good record first time out and may be worth a bet at 6/1.

bolted up, looks a real serious horse this year

he'd already won on soft ground in france as a 4yo so that was never a worry,
i cant agree the oppostion was strong, they were substandard handicappers running against the champion chase fav, as good an even money shot as you'll see all season

wonder where nicholls will go with him from here though, i think he'd be an ideal king george horse, easy 3 miles round kempton........

I couldn't believe the price Kauto star went off, Even money, unreal price for a horse so far above the opposition.

It's hard to know if he'll stay 3 miles at this stage, yesterdays 2Mile 4 around Aintree could hardly be classed as a test of stamina.

Yeah, was surprised at that myself, thought he would be long odds on so decided to save myself a trip to the bookies. Bah! Ah well, woulda, shoulda, coulda, the mating call of the horse backer :D

Benefit of hindsight tbh. If you thought evens was a great price you have no excuse for not lumping on.

Yeah but I hadn't looked at racing all day until I checked to see if he'd won or not. As I said thought he would be long odds on and nothing else stuck out for me so decided to give the horses a miss. Once again, woulda, coulda, shoulda....

They're considering the King George for Kauto Star.
