Well we had a big pow-wow about what the first song should be and we knew that sooner or later you guys and gals would have this debate as well. So we decided, what better way to open Phantom 105.2 then let you nominate the song that will be the first played on 105.2!

Not only, that if you make a nomination we'll put you in a draw to win tickets to the Phantom 105.2 Launch Party at the Village on October 31st and if you are one of the people who nominated the chosen song you could be getting a shiny new iPod as well!

So here's how to do it~

    http://www.phantom.ie/firstsong.htm

And don't forget to come back here to discuss your nomination and why!

Phantom 105.2 will go on-air at 12 midday on October 31st! Tell your friends. We'll also be available online at www.phantom.ie

Soon, it will be safe to turn your radio on again!

first song should be something that's fairly recent and irish. it should also rock. i vote for Givemanakicks 'Bobby Dazzler' or 'Let God Touch Your Children'.

yeah I'm sick of u2 too,the last ten years of their output is tedious drool.

I'd be happy if it was U2, so long as it was the last time they were ever played on Phantom.

If not, then something by Berkeley would keep me happy.

Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah would be perfect since they've been years waiting to get their licence!

Now that Phantom is back on the air, you might say that we've got "Everything In Its Right Place". Yes, yes.

Edit: 2nd song "Gimme The Car"
    3rd song "Cows with Guns"

    Yes, yes.

Clearly Going Underground by The Jam is the only sensible choice.

Here here good man. But what's the bets that it's some classic Irish band like U2 or Lizzy?

I voted Only Shallow- My Bloody Valentine but I'm going to vote for a lot of others. Maybe it should be something ironic, like 'Licince to Kill', although that's not really rock at all..........
