I have asked people about this perviously and people will always say you get what you paid for.

And as far as I know Xtravision will on deliver this so you cant see it in action.

    xtravision are a rip off.

They have the exact same tv on pixmania for €690. Friend of mine got one last week excellant picture quality and as they say you pay for what you get. For that money its good value. They are out of stock at the moment which means they must be selling. I know there have been some horror stories about pixmania but i bought a samsung 27 inch off them and had no problems. Delivered in 4 days with a year guarantee.

it's hardly a ripoff, buy the tv for 690 then 50 to 100 for DHL delivery and it's not so much. Especially for a bricks and mortar store. Plus pixmania customer service is a joke so unless you are saving €200+ i'd give xtravision the money

That's not even mentioning lower costs in france etc.

if you are going to go the pixmania route go with a brand name so you can avoid crappy pixmania customer support, for example, this toshiba is a pure bargain http://www.pixmania.com/ie/uk/252629/art/toshiba/32-16-9-lcd-tv-hd-ready-r.html

it depends on size and what you go with doesn't it. When i priced a 37" toshiba the DHL delivery was almost 100. But seriously their customer support is atrocious.

The discount codes are very handy though. cheers

I have to disagree with savemejebus about their customer support, I ordered a hard drive from them and it went missing in post, I emailed them wondering where it was and they immediately gave back some money to my credit card for inconvenience, then they found out that dhl had lost it(probably nicked, as it reached depot in dublin) , once they confirmed that they sent a new one out and it arrived 2 days later. They emailed all throughout letting me know what was going on and I was very happy with the service.

In saying that, I do realise that a tv is a pain in the arse to sent back to pixmania if anything goes wrong, for that reason alone I would prefer to buy it in a "bricks and mortar" store.

i had the total opposite experience, it tool 1 month and 10 days to get an external hard drive due to their courier losing it. Dvd player that i got went kaput and they wanted me to send it back to france at my own expense (and that was with zen engagement). Cost of DVD player €40 cost of postage to france €35. It wasn't worth it.

Still with their prices i'd use them again, however I must stress **(in my opinion, based on my experiences) NEVER NEVER go with any delivery method other than DHL, they use dpd to ship stuff for non-dhl deliveries and to say they are terrible would be kind. Twice with 2 separate shipments from two companies dpd lost my packages. The replacement boxes were in very bad shape by the time they got here too, they looked like someone had played football with them**.

**The above opinions are entirely my own and should not be construed as being representative of this web site or it's owners

DHL isn't an option for that item ... and I'm guessing items of that size?

wow, that's nuts you can only use dhl on tv's above a certain price (size). If you price a 37" samsung you can get dhl (24hr delivery) for about €120 but for the mirai or the €800 toshiba you can't. That really sucks
