For how many years have RTE radio being using the AA as their source of traffic information on OUR airwaves

It makes me furious listening to that advertisment for the AA every day on 2FM and radio 1 and whatever mickey mouse knob polishing station accepts their reports
Tuesday 17th oct i was stuck in traffic for almost 2 hours on the N7 inbound but yet RTE-AA traffic reports failed to tell me or anyone else that there were delays on the N7,same today,RTE decide to give me a AA traffic report a full 90 minutes after every other station in the land has reported that the N7 was at a standstill,i wanted information,i got ruth scott.
    Think AA and RTE,THINK USELESS.

AFAIK the AA pay RTE for the traffic info slots.

yes they are worse than useless and all they do really is to say the same thing everyday that we all know...ie M50 busy both ways, delays at the Dunkettel, etc etc...yet to here them mention hold ups on the Cork South ring betweeen bishopstown and sarsfield or on the LImerick bypas....watch UK brekkie TV to see how it should be done...live TV pictures of the junction they are talking about...mostly around De Smoke I know....

Listen to Anna Livia on 103.2 if you want live rolling traffic reports in the evening. The guy who does it is a legend.

Yep Anna Livia (DCAL FM) is the business. Don't they have access to Dublin traffic cameras also?

The traffic reports could be programmed weeks in advance for all thier use.

AA traffic reports are ^&&*#$^ on every station. They spend a minute telling us there are problems on the M50 and the roack road, etc. Well what a &*&^^ surprise. WHy not tell us when there are no problems on the M50? That would be news.

I've often spent 2 hours on the N7 with no announcement by AA on any station. I've had fun driving along the Grand Canal with major crashes (emergency services there) and again, no news.

The those D4 girls should go back to dreaming about Hino's and Blackrock rugby players instead.

It's hard to beat the Garda Traffic Channel for up to date reports. ;):D

"Truck broke down on the N3 near the Blanchardstown Roundabout. Major delays reported" could be programmed in advance ;)

Slow inbound on the Navan Road, Church Street backed up as far as Constitution Hill, M50 southbound slow from Finglas right through to the Tallaght exit and again at Dundrum, and in Cork, the lights are out of action at the Dunkettle roundabout

You'll never hear that - AA traffic reports prefer to refer to that roundabout as "Scott's Roundabout", since there is, on what used to be the Navan Road (now a Cul de Sac) a restaurant that used to be called Scott's.

Our traffic reports are also the only ones I've ever encountered that use non-junction overbridges (Coldcut bridge...) as landmarks on motorways.
