Found this attic stairs from Woodies DIY for 99euro. The price looks v. good compared to what I've seen in the shops today (4Home, etc.). Delivery seems to be only 6 yoyoz or so. Going through my pigsback.com account, looks like I can pick up a few points too (enough for a tenner voucher for Dublinbet, etc.).

Haven't used these guys before. Has anyone here ordered stuff from 'em? I'd be interested in how they are to deal with if theres any problems. The site only mentions taking back stuff if you get it by mistake - what about faulty/missing parts?

    Cheers.

Faulty/missing parts would be covered under the warranty.
I bought one like this from Woodies (not online) 4 years ago and it's fine. Missing parts won't be a problem for you with it because it's all pre-assembled in one unit so there are no separate parts. Even the handrail comes attached.

Brilliant - There's no branch near me so I think I'll go for this online so. Thanks for the feedback! :)

if your attic door is not the measurements you said above does it matter?

Not sure if this is any help but...

    Details from their site:
    # Door Opening 118cm X 58cm.
    # Max floor to ceiling 2.70 metres.
    # 40mm Max height adjustment.
    # Complete with fully insulated trapdoor & safety rail.

The distance between the joists in my case is 58cm - It'd be a good idea to ring them before ordering.

They're never an exact fit. You'll either have to frame in the current opening to make smaller or cut the ceiling slab and reframe the opening to make it bigger. I just had the 2'X2' standard square trap door so I had to cut the ceiling and 2 joists and frame it in to the correct size.
It's simple enough to do but if nervous about cutting joists get a carpenter to do it. 1 - 1.5 hours tops.
